Riteish Deshmukh born on 17 December 1978, in Mumbai, Maharashtra is an architect and Indian actor who appears in Bollywood films. He is the son of the late Vilasrao Deshmukh, He was ex-chief minister of Maharastra.
Deshmukh first film was Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003 opposite Genelia D'Souza. In 2004 that he achieved some success, when he appeared in the commercially successful comedy Masti and the critically acclaimed Bardaasht.
His first relatively successful lead role occurred in the widely panned sex-comedy Kyaa Kool Hai Hum with Tusshar Kapoor. this film was tolerated by audiences and declared a moderate success at the box office.He appeared in Malamaal Weekly and Apna Sapna Money Money,
In 2007, he was first seen in a guest appearance in Namastey London, that year, he appeared in Sajid Khan's directorial debut Heyy Babyy, co-starring Akshay Kumar and Fardeen Khan. In 2009, his first release was Aladin, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez.In 2010, he was forced to work with Sajid Khan on the comedy Housefull with Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, Arjun Rampal and Jiah Khan. The film received negative response from critics, though it was a Blockbuster commercially.
His first release of 2011 was F.A.L.T.U, in which he played the role of Bajirao, a fake college principal. His second release of the year was comic sequel Double Dhamaal. Both films were very successful.
In 2012 Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya in which he is paired opposite his real wife Genelia D'Souza. then starred in another sequel, Housefull 2, which released on 6 April 2012.Deshmukh is currently attempting another sequel to the 2004 hit Masti titled Grand Masti, His work in Masti was nominated for several awards, including the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor category.
Deshmukh dated Genelia D'Souza for almost eight years. Despite their strong religious differences, they were married in accordance with Marathi traditions on 3 February 2012, followed by a less-publicized church wedding. Deshmukh's father passed away on 14 August 2012 from multiple organ failure. Deshmukh maintained a Gandhi-esq vigilance just before to his father's demise
